• *ALUMINUM WELDER JOB DESCRIPTION**

As a Welder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and exceptional quality of our aluminum truck bodies. The successful candidate will have developed welding skills with a proficiency in aluminum welding, and a keen eye for detail.
• *Responsibilities:
• Perform aluminum welding tasks with precision and accuracy, following job specifications, blueprints, and welding codes.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, selecting appropriate materials, and adjusting parameters to achieve optimal welding results.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements for aluminum truck bodies.
• Prepare workpieces by cleaning, deburring, and inspecting surfaces to ensure they are free from contaminants and defects.
• Position and secure workpieces using clamps, fixtures, or other holding devices to facilitate the welding process.
• Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene welding, to join aluminum components effectively.
• Monitor welding processes to ensure proper fusion, penetration, and heat control, while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Conduct visual inspections of welded joints to identify and address defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete welds.
• Perform post-welding activities, including grinding, polishing, and cleaning, to achieve a finished appearance that meets quality specifications.
• Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow established safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on welding equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• *Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in welding are preferred.
• Proven experience as a Welder, with a focus on aluminum welding.
• In-depth knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene welding, specifically for aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols relevant to aluminum truck body fabrication.
• Proficiency in operating welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, torches, and related instruments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with different types of aluminum alloys and their welding characteristics.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and physical stamina to perform welding tasks in various positions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
