Job Description
Our client is seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join their team as Apprentice Welders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in structural steel fabrication and gain hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals. The role involves learning and performing various welding techniques, assisting senior welders, preparing materials for fabrication, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Successful candidates will be eager to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and have a keen eye for detail. Safety is paramount in this role, and all apprentices will receive comprehensive training on proper safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include:
Assisting in the setup and operation of welding equipment. Learning and applying different welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Preparing metal surfaces for welding by cleaning and grinding. Reading and interpreting basic blueprints and technical drawings. Performing basic fitting and assembly tasks under supervision. Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order. Adhering strictly to all safety regulations and company policies. Participating actively in all assigned training sessions and apprenticeship program requirements. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. A genuine interest in welding and metal fabrication. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Willingness to learn and follow instructions. Basic understanding of tools and equipment is an asset. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
