International welders classified under NOC 72106 (TEER 2) can apply for Express Entry Federal Skilled Trades Program if they have 2 years full-time experience, CLB 5 language proficiency, and a valid job offer or certificate of qualification. Temporary Foreign Worker Program requires a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from ESDC, valid for up to 2 years. Processing fee is CAD 155 for work permit as of January 2026.
