Responsibilities: Assist senior welders in various fabrication tasks. Learn and apply different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick). Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cleaning and grinding. Operate welding machines and related equipment under supervision. Perform basic welding tasks according to specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order. Adhere to strict safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Participate actively in all training modules and assessments. Develop a thorough understanding of different metals and their weldability. Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification. Strong interest in welding and metal fabrication. Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to work safely and follow instructions. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques. Good communication skills. Must be able to commit to the full duration of the apprenticeship program.
