Quick answers about Welder Jobs in South Africa

Q What is the national minimum wage for entry-level welder jobs in South Africa in 2026?
As per the Department of Employment and Labour, the national minimum wage is R30.33 per hour effective 1 March 2026, equating to R5,914 per month for a 45-hour workweek. Foreign welders qualify for a Critical Skills Work Visa if their occupation is on the list as welders and flame cutting operators. The visa is valid for 5 years and leads to permanent residency after 10 years.
