Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Welder to join their growing team in Richards Bay. As an Apprentice Welder, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, learning various welding techniques and safety protocols. You will assist in fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and equipment. This role demands a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to mastering the craft. You will be exposed to different welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, capable of following instructions precisely, and committed to safety in the workplace. This position is based on-site in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal , and requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior welders in various welding and fabrication tasks. Learn and apply different welding techniques safely and effectively. Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cleaning and grinding. Operate welding equipment and tools under supervision. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Perform basic metal cutting, shaping, and assembly. Conduct routine checks and maintenance on welding equipment. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Basic understanding of math and measurement. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work in a team and independently when required. Safety-conscious attitude. Previous exposure to trade work or a strong interest in welding is advantageous.
