Job Description
1. Purpose of the Role To maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for both Capitec Bank staff and clients by ensuring high standards of hygiene and tidiness across the branch during day or night operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish all floors including tiled, carpeted, and vinyl areas.

Dust and wipe down furniture, counters, glass surfaces.

Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and staff facilities daily.

Empty and sanitize all bins and replace bin liners.

Replenish consumables such as soap, hand towels, and toilet paper.

Day Shift Specific

Maintain cleanliness of client-facing areas throughout operating hours Respond promptly to spills and ad-hoc cleaning requests to ensure a presentable environment.
Night Shift Specific

Conduct deep cleaning of the entire branch after closing hours. Clean windows, doors, and high-touch surfaces with approved disinfectants Ensure all areas are ready for opening before the next business day.

Report any security or maintenance concerns to the supervisor immediately

Health & Safety

Adhere to Capitec Bank’s health, safety, and hygiene protocols at all times. Correctly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment as per safety guidelines.

Wear appropriate PPE while on duty.

3. Requirements

Grade 10 or equivalent qualification preferred.

Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, retail, or banking environment is an advantage.

Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.

Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift light loads.

Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.

4. Working Hours Day & Night Shift

Weekend: 08:00am to 13:00pm

Flexibility required for public holidays and peak periods

Professional conduct when interacting with staff and clients.

Ability to follow instructions and comply with bank security protocols.
