Welder positions in Al Wakrah

As per the Ministry of Labour Decree No. 17 of 2020, the minimum basic wage for non-Qatari welders in the private sector is QAR 1,000 per month as of 2026. Employers must also provide accommodation worth at least QAR 500 per worker monthly or equivalent space, and food allowance of QAR 300 if not provided. Overtime pay is 125% of the basic hourly wage for the first 8 hours beyond normal.

International welders require a sponsor employer to apply for a work permit through the Ministry of Labour portal, costing QAR 1,000 for issuance as of 2026, valid for one year and renewable. Following approval, a Residence Permit is obtained from the Ministry of Interior within 30 days of arrival. Welders must pass a medical exam costing QAR 100-200 approved by Hamad Medical Corporation.

Welders must have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a recognized welding certificate (e.g., AWS or equivalent) verified by the Ministry of Labour as of 2026. Applicants undergo a trade test at MOL-approved centers costing QAR 200. No high school diploma is mandatory, but technical training is preferred for skilled category approval.

Required documents include a valid passport (6+ months validity), 4 passport-sized photos, attested employment contract from MOL, medical fitness certificate, and welding skills certificate as of 2026. The employer submits via the MOL Unified Labor Portal within 1 week of job offer. Processing takes 5-7 working days with no fee to the worker.
