Associate Packing

As per the Maharashtra Minimum Wages Notification issued by the Labour Department, the minimum wage for unskilled workers including packing jobs in Zone I is Rs. 14,000 per month effective January 2026. This includes basic rate of Rs. 11,500 plus Variable Dearness Allowance of Rs. 2,500. Overtime is payable at twice the ordinary rate for work exceeding 9 hours per day.

The Factories Act 1948 specifies no minimum education for packing workers, but 8th standard pass is typically required for safety training as per state labour rules. No prior experience is needed for unskilled roles, though 3 months on-the-job training is mandatory. Workers must be at least 18 years old for hazardous packing tasks.

Applicants must submit Aadhaar card, PAN card, 10th standard marksheet, bank passbook, and residence proof as per National Career Service guidelines. For factory jobs, a fitness certificate from a registered doctor is required under Factories Act. Registration on NSE portal is free and mandatory for placements.

Under the Factories Act 1948, packing workers get 48 hours per week with 8 hours daily, plus one weekly off. Annual leave is 1 day for every 20 days worked, maternity leave 26 weeks for women, and ESI benefits for salaries up to Rs. 21,000/month. EPF contribution is 12% each from employer and employee for salaries above Rs. 15,000.
