Roles and Responsibilities:

Welder technicians are expected to perform various welding operations at customer sites inside and outside of power plants and have broad knowledge and experience of welding methods. Power plants may be nuclear fueled. Techs must be able to perform all welding operations on mechanical/turbine parts as required, and be certified per GE to SMAW & GTAW processes. Must develop and work from complicated prints and sketches, and be proficient with the use of base metals, filler metals, alloy selection, while exercising thermal control of various materials and processes. Technician must be able to do informational red dye NDE inspection. They must be able to diagnose and correct mechanical trouble on welding equipment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability and willingness to accept all domestic and international assignments, including nuclear plant work

- Demonstrates strong Environmental Health & Safety values; participation in all EHS programs and a champion of Stop Work.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

- High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years classroom or on the job Machinist experience.

- Must possess a valid driver's license

- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts

- Ability and willingness to climb ladders and stairs as required

- Ability to interpret technical instructions

- Ability to pass drug test and background check to gain unescorted nuclear site access

Desired Characteristics: -

- Certifications or ability to attain certifications for FCAW, SAW, and Mechanized welding

- All positions qualified or ability to attain certification for all positions in SMAW using 7018 or 9016 and Inco 182, GTAW using 410 and Inco 82. - Minimum 3+ years of experience working on steam turbine generators in power plants and/or demonstrated capabilities to weld in accordance to ASME requirements on stainless steel and low carbon steels as a minimum.

The pay for this position is $38.19. This position is also eligible for Night Shift Bonus. This posting is expected to close on April 15.
