Shipyard Pipe Welder (Copper Nickel Specialist)

Pascagoula MS & Mobile Al - $150 - $180 per diem

Genesis Staffing is currently seeking experienced Shipyard Pipe Welders with a strong background in Copper Nickel (CuNi) welding for marine and shipbuilding projects. Candidates with shipyard, naval, or marine repair experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
• Perform pipe welding on marine vessels, barges, and shipyard projects with a strong emphasis on Copper Nickel (CuNi) piping systems
• Weld pipe using GTAW/TIG, SMAW, FCAW, and other approved welding processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, weld procedures, and piping diagrams
• Fit, align, and weld copper nickel, carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping systems
• Perform pipe fabrication, layout, beveling, tack welding, and assembly as required
• Install and repair piping systems for marine mechanical, cooling, fire suppression, hydraulic, and fluid systems
• Operate welding machines, cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and fabrication tools safely and efficiently
• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and welding specifications
• Work closely with pipefitters, supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and other trades to complete projects on schedule
• Follow all OSHA, company, and shipyard safety procedures
• Maintain clean and organized work areas

Qualifications
• Previous shipyard or marine pipe welding experience required
• Strong Copper Nickel (CuNi) welding experience required
• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipe preferred
• Proficient in GTAW/TIG pipe welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and piping drawings
• Experience with pipe fabrication and fit-up
• Knowledge of marine piping systems and shipboard installations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• TWIC Card preferred but not required

Preferred Skills
• Naval or submarine shipbuilding experience
• Pipe fitting and tack welding experience
• Experience working in confined spaces and industrial shipyard environments
• Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and marine QA/QC requirements

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial shipyard environments for extended periods
