Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patroller in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned education location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do
• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within an educational and public-facing location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, classrooms, common areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor visitor, student, staff, and vendor activity, assist with access control processes, and communicate professionally with site contacts regarding security-related concerns.
• Support a welcoming environment by giving directions, addressing routine questions, and documenting incidents, hazards, and/or policy violations in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
