Category: Housing & Family ServicesLocation: Eau Claire, WIEmployee Type: Part-Time Non-ExemptBase Pay: $18.48 - $24.64 / HourThe Facilities Maintenance position is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to the buildings and units owned and leased by Western Dairyland Housing Services. Some of these duties include minor carpentry, painting, cleaning, repairing damages, etc. Facilities Maintenance will also assist Housing staff with moving clients into and out of WDEOC housing. This is a part time, 20-29 hours per week position.Essential FunctionsPerform minor repairs that do not require a specialized technician, including:fixing and replacing window screensdetecting and repairing basic electrical and/or plumbing issuesrepairing and patching drywallPerform routine and preventative maintenance to units, including:Responding to and completing housing team maintenance requestsEnsuring safety systems are functioning properlyReplacing lightbulbs, installing, and/or maintaining smoke and/or CO2 detectors, replacing furnace filtersPerform cleaning duties and assist with the upkeep of the facilitiesAssemble and repair furnitureProcurement and Record-Keeping DutiesRequest Purchase OrdersPurchase supplies and equipmentMaintain accurate records of all transactionsCollaborate with external contractors and service providers and solicit bids for specialized repairs or maintenance servicesMaintain records of any work and inspections doneMaintain personal accountability for safety in all tasksUnderstand and comply with agency safety policies and proceduresUse personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for each taskActively participate in safety trainings and maintain awareness of potential hazards Immediately report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the supervisorUse tools, equipment, and materials according to manufacturer instructions and established safety protocolsMaintain situational awareness and always prioritize safe work practicesOther tasksAssist housing staff with moving clientsPerform basic carpentry tasks such as: Install and repair flooring, Enforce decking and ramps, Repair roofing and doorsOther tasks as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an employee must:Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect the dignity of othersBe punctual and maintain a neat appearanceBe knowledgeable of and able to operate basic power toolsUnderstand low-income and special populationsCommunicate effectivelyHave excellent problem-solving skillsBe able to organize, multi-task, and manage time effectivelyBe an excellent listenerBe accurate and detail-orientedEducation And/or ExperienceThis position requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
