As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for cleaning staff in Thailand is 450 THB per day or 11,700 THB per month for 26 working days as of 1 January 2026 in Bangkok and surrounding provinces. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 8 hours per day. Employers must display the wage rate at the workplace.

As per the Department of Employment, foreign nationals require a valid work permit under the Foreigners' Working Management Emergency Decree B.E. 2560 to work as cleaning staff in Thailand from 2026. The permit costs 3,000 THB for one year and must be applied for within 7 days of arrival on a non-immigrant visa. Employers must be licensed to hire foreigners for this role.

As per the Ministry of Labour, no formal education or prior experience is required for cleaning staff positions in Thailand as of 2026. Workers must be at least 18 years old and pass a basic health check for communicable diseases. Thai language ability is not mandatory for entry-level roles.

As per the Department of Employment, applicants must submit a national ID card or passport, house registration, and a medical certificate from a government hospital dated within 30 days. For foreigners, a valid visa and work permit application form WP.2 are also required before starting work in 2026.
