PACKING & DELIVERY DRIVER

As per the Ministry of Manpower, the Progressive Wage Model requires entry-level taxi and private hire car drivers with less than 1 year experience to earn at least S$3,500 per month effective 1 January 2026. Supervisors earn at least S$4,200 monthly. Overtime beyond 44 hours per week is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.

Foreign drivers applying for an S Pass must have a fixed monthly salary of at least S$3,300 if under 40 years old, or S$3,700 if 40-44 years old, as set by MOM effective 1 January 2026. This applies to mid-skilled driving roles like supervisors. Work Permits are more common for basic drivers with no minimum salary but subject to levies of S$450 monthly.

A valid Class 4 or higher driving licence issued by LTA is mandatory for heavy goods vehicle drivers, with at least 1 year of relevant driving experience required for work permit eligibility. No minimum education is needed, but a clean driving record and safety course certification are essential. Licences must be renewed every 5 years after age 45.

Employers must provide the worker's passport, a signed employment contract with salary details (at least S$1,600 monthly recommended), valid Singapore driving licence, medical insurance coverage of S$15,000, and medical examination report via MOM's WP Online system. Processing for In-Principle Approval takes up to 7 working days. The worker collects the card within 14 days of arrival.
