As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, expatriate workers in unskilled roles like packing must have contracts specifying at least 2,500 SAR per month as of January 2026. Overtime pay is 1.5 times the basic hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day. Contracts below this are invalid for work visa issuance.
Q What work visa is required for a packing job in Saudi Arabia as a foreigner in 2026?
Foreigners need a temporary work visa (Iqama) sponsored by the employer through the Qiwa platform, valid for 1-2 years renewable. Requirements include a job offer, medical fitness report, and police clearance, processed within 7-10 days as of 2026. The visa costs 2,000 SAR annually for the employer.
Q What education or experience is needed for entry-level packing jobs in Saudi Arabia?
No formal education or prior experience is required for entry-level packing jobs per HRSD guidelines, but employers prefer high school completion or 6 months warehouse handling. Saudization quota requires 15% Saudi nationals in logistics by 2026, prioritizing locals. Age must be 21-60 for expatriates.

Required documents include passport copy valid 6+ months, 4 photos, job offer letter via Qiwa, medical report from approved center costing 300 SAR, and bank statement showing 5,000 SAR balance. Submit via employer on Qiwa portal; approval takes 5 working days in 2026. Originals must match for Iqama issuance.
