Our mechanical field maintenance team support hydropower and geothermal projects across NZ, primarily the Central North Island.You:By joining our, Taupo based, Mechanical Fitting team, you’ll enjoy getting out to a variety of client sites, in some seldom seen locations, working with a close-knit team and taking pride in a job well done.You'll be confident in making independent decisions, as well as together with the team, and a proven "outside the box" approach based on best practice standards to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.As an experienced tradesperson, you’ll be comfortable working under pressure, and be able to turn your hand to all mechanical engineering trades as our crews do it all!Essential SkillsTrade Qualification: Level 4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Turning, or a related discipline.Industry Experience: Proven experience in heavy industry overhauls, ideally with a focus on power generation or heavy rotating plant.Technical Skills: Competency in machinery maintenance overhauls, precision fitting, and measuring work.Personal AttributesTeam Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team.Commitment to Safety: Adherence to safe working practices and quality assurance procedures.Adaptability: Willingness to work extended hours and adapt to varying schedules as required.Ability to pass role-specific pre-employment medical (able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and be physically active with no restrictions to movement)The Role:Joining a team performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, refurbishment, and general engineering in geothermal and hydro power generation, you’ll be completing critical measurements and carrying out precision alignments, working with large turbines, heavy rotating equipment, cranage, valves, pumps, fans, heat exchangers etc. Your days could also include on-site general fabrication, rigging, slinging, dogging and using overhead gantries.Why Join Us?At MB Century, we value our people and offer continuous development through our strong competency framework.
