Personal Driver Required In Salmiya

As per the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), the minimum recruitable salary for light vehicle drivers is KWD 120 per month as of January 2026. This excludes accommodation, which must be provided at a minimum value of KWD 50 monthly or in kind. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day.

Foreign drivers need a sponsor to apply for a work permit through PAM, followed by residency visa (Article 18) from the Ministry of Interior, valid for 1-3 years. Requirements include a valid passport (6+ months validity), home country driving license, medical fitness certificate, and police clearance. The process takes 2-4 weeks, with visa issuance fee of KWD 10.

No formal education is required, but applicants must be at least 21 years old with 2 years of heavy vehicle driving experience and a valid Category 3 or equivalent international heavy vehicle license. A clean driving record and basic Arabic/English proficiency are mandatory for safety compliance. PAM verifies experience via attested documents from origin country.

Required documents include passport copy, attested driving license, 6 passport photos, medical report from approved clinic (cost KWD 25), and employment contract approved by PAM. Sponsor submits via PAM online portal with proof of job vacancy. Approval grants work permit number for visa stamping within 30 days.
