House Cleaning

As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum approved contractual salary for cleaning staff (unskilled laborers under Article 18) is 160 KWD per month as of January 2026. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day. Contracts below this amount are rejected during work permit approval.

The Public Authority for Manpower requires cleaning staff to be at least 21 years old with no formal education or prior experience needed for entry-level roles as of 2026. Applicants must pass a medical fitness test from approved clinics. Kuwaiti nationality is not required, but expats need employer sponsorship.

Submit passport valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested high school certificate if available, medical fitness report costing 25 KWD, and employer contract to PAM as of 2026. Processing takes 5-10 working days after submission. Fingerprints and HIV test are mandatory for residence visa stamping.

Under Labor Law No. 10/2024 effective 2026, cleaning staff work maximum 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week with 1.5x overtime pay. Annual leave is 30 days after one year, plus 14 days sick leave per year. End-of-service gratuity is 15 days' salary per year worked.
