Job Description
Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Maintenance Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems in metro stations and depot. Maintain Lighting systems, Power distribution boards (DBs), and electrical panels . Check and maintain LT panels, VTPN DBs, MCC panels and UPS DBs . Replace faulty MCB, MCCB, contactors, relays, and wiring . 2. Power Distribution SystemMonitor and maintain LV power supply systems . Inspect cables, cable trays, glands and terminations . Ensure proper functioning of transformers, DG sets, and UPS systems . 3. Lighting SystemsMaintain platform lights, concourse lights, emergency lighting and outdoor lighting . Replace faulty LED lights, drivers and control gear . Check lux level and lighting circuits . 4. DG and UPS SystemsAssist in weekly DG trial run and monitoring parameters . Check fuel level, battery condition, alarms and control panel . Monitor UPS battery health and charging system . 5. Earthing SystemMeasure earthing resistance periodically . Inspect earthing pits, earth strips and connections . Maintain chemical earthing pits . 6. Electrical SafetyFollow LOTO procedures and safety rules . Use proper PPE while working on electrical systems . Ensure safe isolation before maintenance work. 7. Preventive Maintenance ActivitiesCarry out scheduled preventive maintenance as per maintenance checklist . Conduct IR testing of cables and busbars . Assist in thermography inspection of panels . 8. Documentation and ReportingMaintain maintenance logs and checklists . Record fault reports and corrective actions . Report major faults to Supervisor/Engineer . 9. CoordinationCoordinate with station control room, engineers, and maintenance team . Assist during inspection, audit, and emergency breakdowns . Required SkillsKnowledge of electrical panels, DBs, transformers, UPS, DG systems . Ability to read Single Line Diagram (SLD) . Knowledge of electrical testing tools (Multimeter, Megger, Clamp Meter) . Understanding of earthing, cable termination, and panel wiring . Qualification - ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
