Job Description
Overview

We are seeking a skilled Aluminium TIG Welder to join a global OEM specialising in Aviation and Aerospace applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG welding, particularly with aluminium, and possess a strong understanding of fabrication processes.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision welding and mechanical aptitude.

The successful applicant will be responsible for producing high-quality welds in aluminium components, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Duties
• Perform TIG welding on thin gauge aluminium components with precision and consistency (typically 0.8mm – 3mm)
• Producing high-quality fillet and butt welds to aerospace standards
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
• Manual torch brazing of aluminium and stainless steel (aluminium experience highly desirable)
• Conduct quality checks on welds to ensure they meet industry standards
• Maintaing strict adherence to aircraft quality standards
• Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products as required
• Troubleshoot minor issues with welding equipment or fabrication processes

Skills
• Proven experience in TIG welding, especially aluminium (TIG welding certification is advantageous)
• Proficiency with various welding techniques relevant to aluminium
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and assembly techniques
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment safely
• Mechanical knowledge to understand technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with the use of measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges
• Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality welds and assemblies
