Welder positions in Riffa

As per the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, the minimum salary for issuing a work permit to welders (occupation code 7212) in the private sector is BHD 300 per month as of 2026. This applies to non-Bahraini workers and must be stated in the employment contract approved by LMRA. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day.

Foreign welders need a sponsor to apply for a work permit via LMRA's e-services portal, requiring a job offer with minimum BHD 300 salary and medical fitness certificate from Hamad Town Clinic costing BHD 20. The process takes 5-10 working days and leads to a residence visa valid for 2 years. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months.

Welders must hold a vocational training certificate in welding from an accredited institute or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience verified by previous employers. High school diploma is the minimum education level for LMRA approval under skilled trades category. Bahraini nationals receive priority under localization quotas.
