We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef – Thai Cuisine to lead our kitchen operations and uphold the authenticity and excellence of our Thai culinary offerings.

Position Summary The Head Chef – Thai Cuisine will oversee all Thai kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality, authentic Thai dishes. The role involves menu planning, kitchen supervision, cost control, staff development, and maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Culinary Leadership
• Plan and develop authentic Thai menus aligned with the restaurant concept.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Introduce seasonal specials and innovative Thai dishes while preserving authenticity.
• Approve dishes before service to ensure quality standards.

2. Kitchen Operations
• Manage daily operations of the Thai kitchen.
• Supervise food preparation, cooking processes, and plating standards.
• Coordinate smoothly with other kitchen sections during service.
• Maintain operational efficiency during peak hours.

3. Team Supervision
• Lead, train, and supervise chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
• Assign duties and monitor staff performance.
• Conduct regular training on Thai cooking techniques and hygiene standards.
• Foster teamwork and professional kitchen discipline.

4. Quality Control
• Ensure high-quality ingredients and finished dishes at all times.
• Monitor proper storage and handling of Thai herbs, spices, and perishables.
• Conduct regular tasting and quality checks.

5. Cost Control & Inventory
• Monitor food costs and minimize wastage.
• Assist in budgeting and inventory planning.
• Control stock usage and ordering of Thai ingredients.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.

6. Hygiene & Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
• Enforce workplace safety and sanitation procedures.

7. Supplier Coordination
• Work closely with suppliers to source authentic Thai ingredients.
• Ensure quality, freshness, and timely delivery of products.

8. Menu & Recipe Standardization
• Develop standardized recipes and portion controls.
• Maintain recipe documentation for consistency and training purposes.

Requirements
• Proven experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef specializing in Thai cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and modern Thai cooking techniques.
• Experience managing restaurant or multi-outlet kitchen operations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of food cost control and kitchen budgeting.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Culinary diploma or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience working in international or multi-branch restaurant groups.
• GCC experience preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Requirements

• Local hiring preferred (candidates currently in Bahrain).
