You will handle the repair, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of plant and equipment, using welding, cutting, and metalwork techniques. The role involves operating workshop machinery, conducting pre-start checks, reporting faults, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.What will you be doing?Repair, fabricate, assemble, and maintain plant and equipment. Use a variety of tools and techniques including welding, brazing, cuttings and sheet metal work. Perform maintenance and repair work to ensure that the plant and equipment remain in good working condition. Conduct pre-start checks and report any faults or deficiencies in all equipment associated with the role. Operate equipment and machinery within specification guidelines using safe work practices.Achieve quality and presentation of work output.Organise resources to complete all projects on schedule.Achieve accuracy and compliance with all drawings.Fabricate to industry standards.Appraisal and planning of specific jobs.Identify cost reduction and business process improvements, implement as appropriate and provide feedback to management.Strive to achieve budget and other Key Performance targets, as appropriate.Contribute to the maintenance of all assets to preserve and promote Neumann Steel as a quality provider of Concrete Reinforcing products and services.Support & action on other work-related tasks as directed by all levels of management.Participate in any reporting activities as instructed by management.Utilize Neumann Steel's CMMS to maintain accurate records of your work history for job costing and work records.Carry out other duties as required.Skills and Experiences:What are we looking for in the successful candidate?Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role.Mechanical Engineering Certificate III (Boilermaker/Welder).Forklift License.EWP License.Proven history of activities that achieve individual, team and business objectives and customer satisfaction.Well-developed, practical communication skills.Ability to contribute to team objectives and motivation.Ability to effectively handle customer feedback in a professional and courteous manner.Ability to work unsupervised.Ability to lift objects in accordance with Australian legislation.Ability to read engineering drawings/specifications.Computer Literate.Sound knowledge of the steel/building industry preferred.Sound knowledge of AS1554 advantageous.Welding supervisor qualification highly regarded.What’s In It For YouFree parking onsiteOngoing training and exciting career opportunities!Free lunch on Fridays!Mental health and wellbeing support, wellness discounts for mind, body, work, and life, including an Employee Assistance ProgramOur culture is driven by our values.
