DescriptionAre you ready to solve transportation mysteries and help Amazon deliver world-class service to our customers? If so, we're looking for a motivated candidate to join our AU TOM team in Horsley Park.As a Transportation Specialist, you will be a vital member of Amazon Transportation Services, playing a key role in the safe and efficient movement of freight across our yard and network. Your responsibilities will include overseeing trailer moves, coordinating yard activities (including check-in, traffic flow, and internal communications with dock teams), conducting yard audits and inductions, and ensuring safe load quality for transport. You will manage Trailer Dock and Release (TDR) operations, including trailer docking procedures, safety equipment compliance, dock door management, and the safe release and departure of trailers from the yard. You will also support driver training programs (including Hostler and CDL School) as assigned, in line with business needs across Amazon's transportation network.This role requires flexibility to work across day and night shifts.Key job responsibilities Analysing multiple performance dashboards and metrics (including OTA, OTD, DPMO, LQ360, and carrier performance data) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and providing bridges to leadership and stakeholders as required Ensuring load quality standards are upheld through the use of internal tools and systems (such as LQ360, SSP, FMC, and YMS), conducting regular checks and escalating non-conformances to maintain safe and compliant load standards across all outbound trailers Monitoring and driving on-time loading performance through relevant metrics and tools, ensuring customer packages are loaded accurately and on time to meet network departure windows and customer delivery commitments Communicating with OB (Outbound) dock team and NOC (Network Operations Center) to provide reasons for delays when drivers arrive or depart late, and coordinating timely resolution of delay causes Coordinating with multiple carriers and their contacts for any site-related escalations on carrier pickups and delivery issues, including informing them of any weather-related disruptions to yard activities Establishing and communicating daily load plan development and changes (load requirements on a daily basis) to NOC, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders Daily monitoring with FC (Fulfilment Centre) operations departments, transportation peers, and carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time Consolidating data from multiple data sources to generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to support business needs, uncover data integrity issues, and identify patterns that can be proactively mitigated Engaging carrier drivers and delivery drivers in the yard as needed to maintain yard organisation, yard safety (making escalations whenever necessary), and minimise delays Using internal systems to gather data from multiple sources to support reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, including SSP (Sortation Platform), FMC (Freight Management Console), and YMS (Yard Management System) Adhere to company rules and regulations and make safety a priority at all times Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers as needed, to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and to maintain a fluid trailer pool Comply with company policies, procedures, and local regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.) Work at locations within the node on a needs basis to support the business, 38 hours/week and overtime as required Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodationBasic Qualifications Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach Experience working in warehouse, logistics, transportation, distribution centre or equivalentPreferred Qualifications Experience using Windows/MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel) Experience leading and managing a teamAcknowledgement Of CountryIn the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
