Guest Experience Host - Restaurant Front‑of‑House

As per the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP), the minimum salary for obtaining a work residence visa for restaurant roles is AED 5,000 per month if no accommodation is provided by the employer, or AED 3,000 per month if accommodation is provided, as of 2026. This threshold applies to converting visit visas to work permits. Salaries below this level will not qualify for visa approval.

The employer must first secure a work permit from MOHRE by submitting the employment contract and applicant details, valid for 60 days. Then, apply for a 2-year residence visa through ICP or local GDRFA offices. Requirements include passport valid for 6 months, medical fitness certificate, and Emirates ID biometrics within 30 days of entry.

No formal education qualification is required for waiter positions under MOHRE-approved contracts. Applicants need at least 6 months of relevant experience and must pass a medical fitness test including chest X-ray. For promotion to supervisor roles, 2 years experience is standard.

Documents include a coloured copy of passport, 4 passport-sized photos, signed employment contract registered with MOHRE, medical fitness certificate from government-approved center (costing AED 350), and proof of accommodation. Employer submits via MOHRE website or app, with processing fee AED 200-500. Employee must complete within 60 days of permit issuance.
