Job Description
Job Summary:
The HOUSEKEEPING /Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of assigned areas. This includes routine cleaning, sanitation, and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for occupants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
Skills & Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and products
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, etc.)
• Attention to detail
• Time management and reliability
• Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Basic communication skills
Experience Requirements:
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not mandatory
• On-the-job training may be provided
Working Conditions:
• May involve early mornings, evenings, or shifts
• Requires physical activity (lifting, walking, standing)
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Work may be indoors or outdoors depending on assignment
Performance Indicators:
• Cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained
• Timely completion of assigned tasks
• Proper use of materials and equipment
• Compliance with safety guidelines
Optional :
• Driver’s license (for emergency)
• Knowledge of specialized cleaning (carpet, industrial, hospital-grade sanitation)
