Carpenter positions in Al Ain

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), the minimum basic salary for skilled carpenters under skill level 3 is 3,500 AED per month effective January 2026. This excludes housing allowance of 500 AED and transport allowance of 300 AED provided in standard contracts. Overtime pay is 1.5 times the hourly rate beyond 8 hours daily.

Foreign carpenters require an employer-sponsored employment entry permit costing 200 AED, followed by a work permit at 600 AED and residence visa at 370 AED as of 2026. A medical fitness certificate (320 AED) and Emirates ID (100 AED first year) are mandatory before stamping. The visa is valid for 2 years and renewable.

MOHRE classifies carpenters as skilled workers requiring at least 2 years of verified experience in woodworking or construction. No formal education certificate is mandatory, but attested vocational training from home country is preferred for approval. UAE nationals need 0 years experience under Emiratisation quotas.

Required documents include a valid passport (6 months validity), 4 passport-sized photos, MOHRE-approved employment contract, medical fitness report, and attested experience certificate. Employer submits via MOHRE portal within 7 days of arrival. Processing takes 5 working days and costs 600 AED.
